Petrovietnam Drilling and Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) has won a contract for one of its jackup rigs from Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Company (PQPOC). The rig in question is the 2015-built PV Drilling VI, which will be used for the 2027 development drilling program for the Block B gas field project offshore southwest Vietnam. Under the contract, the rig will drill 40 development wells in about 305 days. It is set to start deployment between March 2027 and August 2027. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The rig is currently operating in Malaysia and is set to remain there until early 2027. The signing of the contract to supply the rig to PQPOC not only ensures revenue and financial efficiency for PV Drilling but also maintains the domestic drilling market share, in line with Petrovietnam’s goal of optimising the value chain between subsidiaries. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsVietnam
