Evidence such as voyage data, CCTV recordings, witness statements, photographs, charts, and physical evidence can be lost, altered, or overwritten if not properly secured – potentially affecting the determination of liability and the overall understanding of an incident. The American P&I Club’s animation - Do's and Don'ts for Collecting Perishable Evidence provides practical guidance on preserving voyage data, witness statements, charts, photographs, videos, and physical evidence, while highlighting common mistakes to avoid and is available in English, with new and traditional Mandarin subtitles on the Club’s Emergency Response webpage.
