CLARKSONS PLATOU HELLAS – SnP WEEKLY BULLETIN in Weekly Shipbuilding Reports 23/01/2026 Another active week on the tanker front, with a steady flow of transactions and ongoing negotiations taking place across all vessel segments. On the dry side, interest remains high with several new sales emerging as market sentiment strengthens. Dry Cargo On the Kamsarmax front, the MIAO XIANG (ABT 81K DWT, 2013, JIANGSU EASTERN) has been sold at USD 16.8 m, while on the Panamax segment, the KT BIRDIE (ABT 74K DWT, 2011, SASEBO HI) changed hands at USD 16.5 m to Greek interests. We are also hearing that a 2020 Chinese built Ultramax has been sold for USD 30.1 m. Meanwhile, THE LOVING (ABT 58K DWT, 2007, TSUNEISHI CEBU) has been committed at USD 11.7 m. On the Handysize segment, we are seeing several transactions unfolding and negotiations taking place, highlighting also buyers’ appetite for smaller tonnage. The YANGTZE GRACE & YANGTZE HAPPINESS (ABT 32K DWT, 2012, JIANGMEN NANYANG) were sold for USD 9.8 m each to separate Chinese interests. According to market rumors a 37K DWT 2008 Japanese built Handysize has been sold for USD 11.4 m, whilst a 2015 Japanese built 36K DWT Handysize is in firm discussions in the high USD 18’s m. Tanker On the Suezmax segment, c/o Okeanis have agreed to acquire two resale Suezmaxes currently under construction at Daehan Shipbuilding at a price of USD 99.3 m per vessel with delivery within the second quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, we are hearing a 2009 Chinese built Suezmax has been sold at USD 42.5 m. Lastly, two modern LR2s 109K DWT 2024 built are rumored sold at USD 84.5 m each.
