Posidonia Deals to Steal the Spotlight This Week in Hellenic Shipping News 03/06/2026 W ith Posidonia fully underway, the next few days are expected to be “flooded” with reports of newbuilding deals from Greek owners. In the meantime, in its latest weekly report, shipbroker Banchero Costa said that “newbuilding transaction continue to flow, both on bulkers and tankers. Hengli Heavy Industries continues to be under the spotlight, being rumoured this week taking and order from Korean Owner HMM for 4x 306,000 dwt VLCCs for a price of $125 each, to be delivered from march to December 2029. Chinese Owner Teying Marine Holdings is reported having committed 2x plus option for 2x more 114,000 dwt LR2s at Chinese shipyard Lianyungang Wuzhou at the price of $68 mln, with first deliveries expected in 2028, while deliveries for the options will stem from 2028 to 2029. In the bulker segment, Chinese Owner Shanghai Time Shipping is reported having booked 3x 82,000 kamsarmax Bulk carriers at Nantong Xiangyu: the reported price is $35 mln, for deliveries in 2029”. Source: Banchero Costa Meanwhile, in a separate report, shipbroker Xclusiv commented that “this week saw increased activity across the larger bulk carrier segments, with Capesize and Kamsarmax deals taking the lead. In the Capesize sector, the Scrubber fitted “Ehime Queen” – 181K/2016 Imabari was sold to Chinese buyers for USD 57.5 mills. On the Capesize sector, two en-bloc deals stood out. The Scrubber fitted “Maran Argonaut” – 177K/2009 SWS and “Maran Happiness” – 177K/2007 SWS were sold enbloc for USD 60 mills. Moving to the Kamsarmax sector “Themis” – 82K/2012 Cosco Dalian was sold for excess USD 18 mills basis SS/DD due July 2027, while Greek buyers acquired the “Key Hunter” – 82K/2011 Tsuneishi for very high USD 20 mills.
