IMU CET stands for the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test. It is a national-level entrance examination conducted annually by the IMU, or the Indian Maritime University, for admissions to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs at the IMU or any other IMU-affiliated colleges, to join the Merchant Navy or other marine occupations. Students can appear for the exam after passing class 12th and meeting the eligibility criteria. IMU CET Eligibility Criteria CriteriaEligibility Educational QualificationMust have studied PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) in Class 12th with a minimum of 60% marks in PCM. Must have secured at least 50% in English in either Class 10th or 12th. Age CriteriaMales - General: 25 years OBC (NCL): 28 years SC/ST: 30 years Females- General: 27 years OBC (NCL): 30 years SC/ST: 32 years RelaxationSC/ST candidates have 5% relaxation in PCM marks (not in English). Scheduled Tribe candidates from Lakshadweep or Andaman & Nicobar Islands with native parents have a 5% relaxation in English marks. Books For IMU CET Preparation There are various books available in the market that students can use to prepare for this examination; however, most of them do not cover the entire syllabus or do not contain questions in accordance with the exam pattern. Nevertheless, they help students understand the concepts, which is important. The preparation for IMUCET focuses on subjects from the Class 11th and 12th syllabus, especially for the undergraduate technical courses such as B.Tech and B.Sc Nautical Science.
