Maersk will increase its Intermodal Fuel Fee for truck transportation into El Salvador and Guatemala amid higher global energy prices and rising landside operating costs. The revised Export Fuel Surcharge and Import Fuel Surcharge levels will apply from 29 September 2026 for non-FMC shipments and 29 October 2026 for FMC-regulated shipments, based on the price calculation date. Maersk attributed the increases to the impact of the Middle East security situation on global fuel availability and intermodal transport costs. The carrier said the adjustments aim to maintain service continuity and secure sufficient vendor capacity across its landside network.
