Maersk has announced new Intermodal Fuel Fee levels for inland transportation services across the DACH region, Benelux and Poland. The revised percentages will apply from 28 September to 12 October 2026. Region Countries Truck Barge and BCO RCO DACH Germany, Austria and Switzerland 15% 15% 7.5% Benelux Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg 14% 14% 7% Poland Poland 16% – 8% The percentages will be applied to the applicable IHI and IHE inland charges. The temporary Intermodal Fuel Fee, presented under the EFS and IFS surcharge codes, has been in effect since the price calculation date of 16 March and will remain applicable until further notice. Maersk attributed the measure to rising energy prices and fuel-supply uncertainty linked to the security situation in the Middle East. The carrier will review the surcharge every two weeks to reflect changes in energy market conditions.
