Nippon Express Holdings has signed a memorandum of understanding with the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) to develop logistics infrastructure for India’s growing semiconductor industry. The agreement will focus on specialized transport and warehousing requirements for semiconductor-related cargo. NX plans semiconductor logistics center in Gujarat The partnership comes as NX Group expands its logistics infrastructure in India. The company plans to open a dedicated semiconductor logistics center in the Dholera area of Gujarat in 2027. Semiconductor cargo requires specialized handling during transportation. This includes measures to control vibration and protect sensitive equipment and materials. NX and ISM will work together to identify logistics challenges in different regions of India. They will also examine the infrastructure needed to support semiconductor manufacturing and related supply chains. India expands semiconductor ecosystem ISM operates under India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It is responsible for supporting the development of the country’s semiconductor and display manufacturing ecosystem. Under the new agreement, ISM and NX will exchange information on transportation, warehousing and other logistics requirements. The two organizations will also consider areas where they can cooperate on new logistics infrastructure. NX targets further growth in India NX Group has identified India as an important market within its international expansion strategy. The logistics company aims to increase sales from its Indian operations to ¥60 billion by fiscal 2028. The planned Dholera facility forms part of this expansion. NX said it will use its international logistics network and experience handling specialized cargo to support semiconductor supply chains as manufacturing capacity develops in India.
