The Port of Bilbao is strengthening its position in temperature-controlled logistics, supported by two new direct container services connecting the Spanish port with markets across the Americas. The new connections include a service linking Bilbao with the west coast of South America, with calls in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Chile, alongside another direct service with Canada. These routes complement Bilbao’s existing shipping network, which connects the port with around 900 ports worldwide and has a particularly strong presence in the United Kingdom, Ireland and northern Europe. The facility includes two freezers operating at -25°C with combined capacity of 16,300 m³, as well as three cold rooms providing another 7,500 m³. Progeco operates two facilities with 6,000 m² of positive-temperature cold storage space. The company also provides year-round storage, maintenance and repair services for refrigerated containers.
