Valenciaport has implemented a new lane configuration at the southern exit gate of the Port of Valencia, effective June 15, designed to improve traffic flow and organise departures according to vehicle type and operational category. The revised layout distinguishes between light vehicles, flatbed trucks, empty container trucks and loaded cargo trucks, with dedicated lanes assigned to each category to reduce congestion and better accommodate the specific operational requirements of different users. Lanes S1 and S8 are designated for light vehicles and flatbed trucks. Lane S8 incorporates an automated access control system using a port ID card reader, allowing the barrier to lift automatically and enabling faster exits for eligible vehicles. Lane S2 is reserved exclusively for empty trucks, covering empty containers, car carriers without vehicles, empty tankers and similar units. Lane S3 continues to serve as the manual exit lane for loaded trucks as previously. The four automated lanes for cargo trucks, S4 through S7, remain unchanged, preserving the existing automated systems already in operation for this traffic category. The reconfiguration forms part of Valenciaport’s broader programme of operational improvements aimed at optimising internal mobility within the port complex, facilitating the work of carriers and port users and improving the efficiency of entry and exit management at the Port of Valencia.
