News 23 Jan, 2013 Piracy – Gulf of Guinea – Interim Guidelines In response to the growing number of piracy attacks in the Gulf of Guinea, several key industry organisations including the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), BIMCO, Intertanko and Intercargo have produced “ Interim Guidelines for Owners, Operators and Masters for Protection against Piracy in the Gulf of Guinea Region ”. The guidelines may be updated in due course depending on future developments in the Gulf of Guinea and are designed to be read in conjunction with BMP4 .
