LOGISTEED has introduced LIB-CON®, a fire-resistant steel container designed to improve the safe storage of lithium-ion batteries while reducing reliance on hazardous materials warehouses. The patent-pending solution enables lithium-ion batteries to be stored in general warehouses under specified conditions, helping address shortages of hazardous materials storage space and lower storage costs. Each LIB-CON® unit has a maximum loading capacity of 900 kilograms. According to LOGISTEED, the container relaxes storage requirements for lithium-ion batteries containing larger volumes of electrolyte, subject to local fire authority regulations. LIB-CON® is available in eight configurations, including standard and large models, with customization options to accommodate different cargo sizes, weights and packaging requirements. The container features a collapsible and stackable design, front-opening doors for easier loading and unloading, an integrated electrolyte drainage system and an all-steel construction. When folded, it requires less than one-third of the space needed in its assembled state, improving storage and transport efficiency. LOGISTEED said LIB-CON® has undergone a series of performance evaluations, including fire resistance, compression, tilt and drop tests, and complies with the requirements of Fire Hazard No. 303. The company expects the new container to support the growing demand for the safe handling and storage of lithium-ion batteries as battery supply chains continue to expand across the logistics sector.
