Update on the Distribution of Major Fishery Farms Along the Coast of China Information Notices Published: April 24, 2026 Download article pdf Members’ attention is drawn to the Huatai Circular PNI [2026] 04 , which provides an update on the location and expansion of fishery farms along the Chinese coast, based on recent cases, official notices, and on‑site surveys, to reduce vessel groundings, contact damage, and related claims.  It highlights that fishery farm boundaries are dynamic and sometimes uncertain, increasing navigational risk. New or expanded high‑risk areas are regularly identified with consistent advice for vessels to keep clear of coastal waters, avoid anchoring near farms, navigate cautiously, and rely on AIS, radar, VTS guidance, and latest MSA notices, especially at night or in poor visibility. Members are advised to review the Circular and ensure the relevant guidance is brought to the attention of Masters. For updates and further information on the interpretation, Members are advised to seek guidance from their local agent or the Club’s correspondent, who will be able to provide the most current information available locally when intending to trade in the affected areas.
