MSC Baltic III wrecked off the coast of Newfoundland in February 2025 and has been an ongoing concern for the residents. After an initial salvage attempt to remove fuel and containers, a new salvage firm - Resolve Marine - were brought in. They decided to scrap the ship in place and pull it ashore. They have constructed a road into the area, along with extending a jetty out into the water to facilitate the dismantling of the ship.
