Hanwha Ocean said it is actively responding to growing demand for ships based on eco-friendly fuels, having won orders for a total of 10 ammonia carriers to date, including this contract. Hanwha Ocean has been continuing technology development to build zero-carbon ships, including obtaining approval in principle (AIP) for an ammonia carrier in 2022 from Bureau Veritas (BV) and Lloyd’s Register (LR). Last year, it began developing a 150,000 CBM (㎥) very large ammonia carrier with the Korean Register (KR).
