Despite this, the following six Ukrainian ports continue to operate, ensuring crucial exports, especially grain, utilizing a temporary corridor or the Danube river route: Odesa, Chornomorsk, Pivdennyi, Reni, Izmail and Ust-Dunaysk.At present the major risk all vessels face calling at the above ports is a war risk, including attacks from Russia via missiles and drones, the danger of drifting sea mines and the potential for port infrastructure damage and operational disruption. Air raid alarms, general military activity and problems with power supply can disrupt normal port operations and cause some extra delays.All vessels calling at the ports of Ukraine must adhere to specific precautionary measures, including pre-arrival coordination with the Ukrainian military administration and compliance with any instructions received from military ships. Generally, we would recommend the Masters to maintain close communication with the local ship agents for the latest information and updates as well as to follow the specific navigation routes provided by the military administration.Earlier updates: 2024 - 202311 October 2024A Russian missile strike on the port of Chornomorsk in Ukraine on October 9th, the third Black Sea port attack on Ukrainian ports in four days, killed six people and injured eight more.
