File Image / Pixabay All 25 crew members have been rescued from a container ship operated by MSC after it issued a distress alert east of Vietnam . The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Singapore received the alert at about 8.45 AM Singapore time today, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore said in a notification today. The Liberia -registered MSC Hermes III was within Singapore’s Maritime Search and Rescue Region, about 300 km east of Vietnam . MRCC Singapore issued a broadcast requesting nearby vessels to assist. Three vessels responded, with MSC Ruby recovering all 25 crew members after they abandoned MSC Hermes III in a lifeboat. All 25 crew members are safe, with no injuries reported. MRCC Singapore is coordinating with the Vietnamese MRCC on arrangements for the crew to return safely to shore.
