Tor Olav Trøim-backed jackup rig player Borr Drilling has picked up new contracts worth $332m for three of its units. The fixtures involving the rigs Arabia I, Gunnlod and Norve cover a total commitment of 1,779 days. The Oslo and New York-listed offshore driller said the Arabia I, which had its contract suspended earlier this year, has now secured a four-year employment for Petrobras in Brazil starting in the first quarter of 2025. The deal also includes a four-year unpriced option. “The new long-term award in Brazil will be a vast improvement over its previous contract with a day-rate increase of over 60%,” said Bruno Morand, Borr CFO. Meanwhile, the 2018-built Gunnlod has been committed to a Malaysian campaign of seven wells expected to start in November and last for about 210 days. The rig owner has also picked up a 109-day contract extension from BW Energy for the 2011-built premium rig Norve in Gabon, keeping the unit until February 2025, when it is set to start its new contract with Marathon Oil in Equatorial Guinea. In addition, Borr noted that the 180-day contract previously secured with Eni in Congo would be executed by the 2018-built rig Gerd, currently operating in the UAE. The contract will start in October and comes with options for additional 180 days. Year to date, Borr has secured 13 new deals, contributing $644m in contract value and an average equivalent dayrate of about $185,000. Following the latest awards, all of the company’s delivered rigs are committed. Morand noted that Borr’s newbuild rig Vali is also set to be contracted and operating shortly after its delivery later this year. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway
