CLARKSONS PLATOU HELLAS – SnP WEEKLY BULLETIN in Weekly Shipbuilding Reports 26/06/2026 The US-Iran ceasefire has not yet changed much on the water, while the impact of the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the US and Iran on the Hormuz chokepoint remains to be seen. For now, uncertainty surrounding transit through the Strait persists, with the number of monitored transits still well below pre-conflict levels. In dry bulk, rates softened with the recording a week-on-week decline of approximately 7.3%. On tankers, in contrast to the rate easing seen in previous weeks, a slight increase was observed this week, particularly across the larger tanker segments. Overall, we observed healthy S&P activity this week in both the Dry and Wet markets, despite fluctuations in freight rates. On Dry, while demand for larger tonnage (Kamsarmaxes through to Capes) remains, activity this week mainly concentrated on geared tonnage ranging from Handysize up to Ultramax vessels. On the tanker side, while enquiry for tonnage has been maintained, buyers are adopting a more cautious approach in light of the ongoing geopolitical developments Dry Cargo The Kamsarmax SEACON HAMBURG (ABT 86K DWT, 2023, HUANGPU WENCHONG) has been committed at USD 37.5m with a time charter attached until February–June 2028. For comparison, the same aged sister vessels SEACON VANCOUVER and SEACON OSLO were sold two months ago for USD 36.35m each basis a charter free delivery between October – November 2026. On the Ultramax front, the ULTRA SAKA (ex-name MITSOS – ABT 64K DWT, 2013, CHENGXI), was acquired by Chinese interests for USD 23.25m. Interestingly, current sellers bought the MITSOS, only a few months back at region USD 20.5m. On the Supramax size, the Japanese-built OCEAN BRIGHT (ABT 56K DWT, 2013, MITSUI) was sold for xs USD 19m, whereas the LILA CUMBERLAND (ABT 56K DWT, 2013, JIANGSU HANTONG) was sold in the high USD 16’s m levels to c/o ADNOC L&S.
