SEPTEMBER 9, 2008 CIRCULAR NO. 19/08 TO MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION Dear Member: REVISION OF ARRANGEMENTS IN REGARD TO THE RESOURCING OF VESSEL CONDITION SURVEYS Reference is made to Circular No. 04/08 of January 29, 2008 in regard to the resourcing of vessel condition surveys. Several requests have since been received from individual Members wishing to retain the services of surveyors other than Noble Denton. While recommending Noble Denton’s engagement from a cost perspective, it is recognized that individual Members are entitled to opt out of the Noble Denton agreement if they consider it necessary to do so. Where such a decision is made, Members are requested to submit written notice thereof to surveys@american-club.com . Survey instructions will then be issued directly to the Club-approved surveyor in question and relevant fees will be invoiced by that surveyor to the Member directly, at the applicable rate. This rate will have no association with the rates agreed under the Noble Denton contract. For further information, please contact Captain Richard Gayton, Principal Surveyor, Survey Compliance Department for Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc. at Tel: +1 212 847 4508, Fax: +1 212 847 4596 or surveys@american-club.com. Yours faithfully, Joseph E. M. Hughes, Chairman & CEO Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc., Managers for THE AMERICAN CLUB
