John Evans, the current CEO of offshore engineering and services player Subsea7, will retire from his position on June 30, 2026. He will be succeeded from July 1 by Stuart Fitzgerald, the current CEO of Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group. The board will propose that Evans be appointed as a director of Subsea7 at the annual general meeting on May 12. Evans has worked for the company and its predecessor companies for 40 years. He was the COO of Subsea7 for 14 years and has served as CEO since 2020. Fitzgerald has been the CEO of Seaway7 since 2022. He joined Subsea7 in 1998 and has held several senior management positions, including the EVP of commercial and the EVP of strategy and alliances. He is also proposed as the CEO of Subsea7 within the future Saipem7 upon completion of the proposed merger with Saipem. “Stuart has made significant contributions over the course of his career with Subsea7 in both operational and strategic roles, and, in recent years, he has led the turnaround of the Seaway7 business.
