Celsius Tankers, part of Denmark’s Celsius Shipping, has been linked to a fresh LNG carrier order at Samsung Heavy Industries, as the owner continues to build out its gas shipping business. The South Korean yard confirmed the contract in a regulatory filing earlier, noting the value at around KRW 770bn ($514m) and identifying the counterparty only as an Oceania-based owner. While the buyer of the two 180,000 cu m newbuild with delivery scheduled through September 2028 was not named, market sources and shipbrokers have tied the deal to Celsius Tankers. The latest move follows reports in February linking the Danish owner to a separate single LNG carrier order at the same yard, due for delivery in May 2028. Celsius Shipping already oversees a sizeable LNG portfolio, with around 24 vessels either on the water or under construction across yards in South Korea and China. Samsung Heavy, meanwhile, continues to draw strong interest for its LNG carrier slots. The yard has announced two LNG orders within a week, including a separate deal tied to Singapore-based owner Purus. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsDenmark South Korea
