Swedish offshore vessel owner Viking Supply Ships has agreed to acquire a 2019-built anchor-handling tug supply vessel as it continues to expand its fleet of ice-class offshore ships. The Nasdaq Stockholm-listed company signed an agreement to buy the Maersk Maker from Christen Sveaas’ investment firm Kistefos, which had previously agreed to acquire the ship from Maersk Supply Service in August last year. Viking Supply Ships will take over the vessel on the same terms as the original agreement between Kistefos and Maersk. Delivery is expected at the end of March 2026. Technical and commercial management of the vessel will be handled by Sea1 Offshore from April. With the addition, Viking Supply Ships will control a fleet of eight AHTS vessels. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsSweden
