HAROPA PORT exported 8.4 million tonnes of grain through its Rouen terminals during the 2025/2026 grain marketing year, reinforcing its position as France’s leading grain export gateway. The result marks a 61% increase from the previous campaign, when exports reached 5.2 million tonnes. It also exceeds the 10-year average of 7.4 million tonnes, making it one of the strongest grain export seasons in the port’s history. HAROPA PORT handled more than 50% of France’s seaborne grain exports, despite strong competition from other French ports. Milling wheat accounted for 5.6 million tonnes of exports, while barley reached 2.6 million tonnes. HAROPA PORT said it was the third-best barley export campaign ever recorded at Rouen, supported by strong crop quality and competitive pricing. The port also exported 600,000 tonnes of oilseeds, protein crops and malt during the campaign. Morocco remained the largest destination Grain shipments reached 41 countries during the marketing year. Morocco remained the largest wheat importer with 2.6 million tonnes, reflecting poor domestic harvests caused by drought. China imported 578,000 tonnes, followed by Côte d’Ivoire with 520,000 tonnes. Saudi Arabia purchased 500,000 tonnes of barley. By region, exports totaled 3.4 million tonnes to the Maghreb, 1.3 million tonnes to West Africa, and 1.5 million tonnes to European countries. The strong performance reflects the recovery of French grain exports and reinforces Rouen’s role as one of Europe’s leading agricultural export hubs.
