FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin Maersk has announced plans to resume parts of its Middle East-to-US East Coast service through the Suez Canal, marking another step towards restoring regular shipping routes via the Red Sea after more than a year of disruption. According to an advisory published on 9 July Maersk stated that its Middle East to US East Coast (MECL) service would return to the trans-Suez route following the successful Red Sea transit of the Majestic Maersk. The service, operated solely by Maersk, will now transit through the Red Sea rather than routing around the Cape of Good Hope.
