CMA CGM has announced new and updated Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) across four trade lanes. The changes affect shipments to Mozambique, Liberia, Saudi Arabia, and the Middle East and Red Sea. The new surcharge from the Far East to Beira, Mozambique took effect on 15 July 2026. It applies to all cargo at US$250 per TEU. CMA CGM has also introduced a new PSS for reefer cargo to Monrovia, Liberia. The surcharge will apply from 20 July 2026, based on the loading date. It is set at €500 or US$600 per TEU for shipments from worldwide origins. From 22 July 2026, the carrier will introduce a PSS on shipments from Ain Sukhna, Egypt, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The surcharge will be US$150 per TEU for dry cargo and US$300 per TEU for reefer cargo. CMA CGM has also updated its PSS from North Europe to the Middle East and Red Sea. From 1 August 2026, the surcharge will increase to US$1,500 per unit. It applies to dry cargo, reefer containers, out-of-gauge cargo and paying empties. The carrier said the existing US$200 per unit PSS from North Europe to the Indian Subcontinent will remain unchanged.
