China services activity grows at fastest pace in 3 months in May – RatingDog PMI in World Economy News 04/06/2026 China’s services activity expanded at its fastest pace in three months in May as stronger domestic demand and new client acquisitions boosted business activity,, a private-sector survey showed on Wednesday. The RatingDog Services PMI rose to 54.4 in May from 52.6 in April, exceeding analysts’ expectations of 52.3 and remaining comfortably above the 50-mark that separates expansion from contraction. The survey showed new business growth accelerated for a fourth time in five months, supported by improved market conditions, business innovation, and new project launches. New export orders also returned to growth after slight contractions in March and April. Service providers increased staffing levels for the first time in four months as outstanding business rose at the fastest pace since June 2024, reflecting stronger demand and growing backlogs. Cost pressures, however, intensified. Input price inflation accelerated to its highest level since October 2024, driven by higher oil and fuel costs, procurement expenses, and wages. Despite rising costs, companies largely absorbed the increases, keeping average selling prices broadly unchanged. The survey’s composite output index, which combines manufacturing and services activity, rose to 54.0 in May from 53.1 in April, marking the fastest pace of overall business growth since February.
