COSCO Shipping Holdings reported a weaker profit in the first half of 2026 despite carrying more containers. Group net profit fell 34% to CNY 13.4 billion (US$2.0 billion) . Meanwhile, consolidated container volumes at COSCO Shipping Lines and OOCL increased by 8% to 14.3 million TEU . Container volumes rise 8% COSCO Shipping and OOCL carried 14.28 million TEU during the first six months of 2026. That compares with 13.28 million TEU in the same period last year. Volume growth was recorded across almost all major trades. Europe-Far East volumes increased 12% to 2.19 million TEU , while Transpacific volumes rose 10% to 2.63 million TEU . Operating profit per TEU fell by around 30%, from US$197 to US$139 . The operating margin declined from 17.9% in the first half of 2025 to 12.5% .
