The presentation will consider the many new challenges that we see in the world of ship ownership and ship management. We will consider how these new challenges and opportunities might be met and what changes that could mean for shipowners, ship managers, seafarers, and key stakeholders. Some of the questions to be addressed: Post covid - what has changed? Decarbonisation - Can the industry manage the many different challenges of decarbonisation? Stakeholder pressure - what does it mean for different sectors? Digitalisation - is this a challenge, a distraction or an opportunity? Crewing - how will we ensure we have the right mix of experience and skill for the many new challenges? The Nautical Institute is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) with consultative status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Our aim is to promote professionalism, best practice and safety throughout the maritime industry and to represent the interests of our members.
