Italian owner Navigazione Montanari is renewing its tanker fleet with a pair of MR1s at Singapore-listed Chinese yard Yangzijiang Shipbuilding. The Fano-headquartered company listed on VesselsValue with 17 ships and an average age of about 15 years has booked the 41,000 dwt duo at about $42m each, according to brokers, with delivery expected in 2027. Montanari last ordered ships in 2006 when it contracted four aframaxes at Hudong Zhonghua, two of which it still owns. Another Italian product tanker owner and operator, d’Amico International Shipping (DIS), recently booked four LR1 newbuilds at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding for delivery in 2027. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsItaly
