Argentina’s container ports handled 2.1 million TEUs in 2025, marking a 45% increase compared with 2024 and recovering from the weaker volumes recorded in 2023 and 2024, according to DynaLiners. The Port of Buenos Aires remained the country’s dominant gateway. It handled 1.78 million TEUs, accounting for 85%of Argentina’s total container throughput. The port recorded 49% year-on-year growth. Within Buenos Aires, the City Port handled 1.13 million TEUs, up 51%, while Exolgan Terminal processed 645,700 TEUs, an increase of 45%. Ports outside Buenos Aires handled 319,700 TEUs, representing 15% of the national total and a 27% increase from the previous year. Among regional ports, La Plata recorded the strongest growth, with throughput rising 290% to 27,700 TEUs. Rosariofollowed with a 76% increase to 90,600 TEUs. Ushuaia also posted solid growth, handling 34,700 TEUs, up 38% year on year. Meanwhile, Zárate processed 111,700 TEUs, a 9% increase. Bahía Blanca and San Antonio Este recorded declines of 16% and 36%, respectively. The figures underline a strong recovery for Argentina’s container sector, with Buenos Aires continuing to dominate national volumes while several regional ports also reported significant growth.
