Taiwan Navigation has returned to Japan to a familiar yard for its latest fleet expansion. The company has ordered a pair of ultramax bulk carriers at Oshima Shipbuilding for delivery in 2028. The 64,000 dwt units are costing around $39m each, Taiwan Navigation, which this year took delivery of Oshima-built ultramax Tai Sentry (pictured) ordered in late 2021 for $34.15m, said in a stock exchange filing.
