Maersk will introduce an integrated logistics solution alongside the launch of its new Milazzo service, aiming to provide customers with a fully coordinated end-to-end transportation offering. The new service combines Maersk’s inland transportation network with its ocean services, enabling customers to manage shipments through a single transport solution. According to the carrier, the integrated model is designed to improve cargo visibility, strengthen service reliability, simplify planning and reduce supply chain complexity. As part of the new operating model, all bookings to and from Milazzo will be accepted exclusively on a Carrier Haulage basis. This means Maersk will manage the pre-carriage and/or on-carriage transportation associated with the ocean shipment. The carrier said the approach allows it to coordinate the entire transport chain, providing customers with greater operational consistency, improved predictability and a more streamlined logistics experience.
