Maersk has expanded its integrated logistics network in Brazil with a new distribution centre in Suape, strengthening its warehousing and distribution capabilities in the country’s fast-growing Northeast region. Located in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, around 20 kilometres from the Port of Suape and Recife International Airport, the facility is designed to integrate ocean shipping, cabotage, inland transportation, warehousing and distribution into a single end-to-end logistics solution. The investment comes as Northeastern Brazil continues to record strong logistics growth. According to Brazil’s Ministry of Ports and Airports, based on data from ANTAQ, the region handled 329.7 million tonnes of cargo in 2025, while container volumes reached 21.2 million tonnes, representing 9% year-on-year growth, the strongest increase in the past five years. “Brazil remains one of the most strategic markets in Latin America, and the Northeast is becoming an increasingly important hub for industry, retail and international trade,” said Ricardo Rocha, Vice President and Managing Director for East Coast South America at Maersk. “By strengthening our logistics footprint in Suape, we are helping customers reduce complexity and gain access to integrated supply chain solutions that connect production centres, ports and end consumers more efficiently.” The new facility serves a wide range of industries, including consumer goods, retail, automotive, technology, electronics and food and beverage. It also offers cross-docking, fulfilment, transloading and bulk cargo storage, supported by Maersk’s global Warehouse Management System (WMS), which provides real-time inventory visibility and operational control. The distribution centre covers approximately 11,920 m², including 10,850 m² of warehouse space, with capacity for 11,297 pallet positions, 36 loading docks, four access ramps and a floor load capacity of 5 tonnes per square metre. As part of Maersk&#82
