Offshore drilling giant Noble Corporation has announced several new rig deals in its latest fleet status report. One of the rigs that was reportedly considered for sale by the company due to it having no work scheduled beyond August 2026, the 2010-built semisub Noble Deliverer, has won a new contract with Woodside. The five-well contract is valued at $121m over the firm scope, excluding additional services and potential rig upgrades. The deal also has options for up to two additional wells. The semisubs scored big this time around, with the 2009-built Noble Courage bagging a 1,115-day extension with Brazilian state-owned giant Petrobras. The contract adds a net incremental backlog of $339m. This will keep the rig occupied until December 2030. Another semisub, the 2009-built Noble Developer, won a one-well deal with ExxonMobil in Guyana. The estimated duration will be 50 days at a dayrate of $375,000, valued at approximately $22m, including mobilisation and demobilisation. Before the rig starts work for ExxonMobil, it will first need to wrap up work for Petronas in Suriname and complete a 120-day contract with Shell in the Americas. After the contract with the US supermajor, the rig has lined up work with BP in Trinidad. As for the drillships, the 2014-built Noble BlackRhino, won a one-well extension from Beacon in the US Gulf of Mexico. The end of the Beacon gig is now moved to July 2026. The Noble Venturer drillship won a new one-well contract with Planet One in Ghana with an estimated duration of 45 days at a dayrate of $430,000. The contract also has two unpriced option wells. The work for Planet One will begin in December 2026, after the completion of the rig’s work for Tullow. After those engagements, the drillship has work lined up with Amni in Ghana and Shell in the US Gulf of Mexico. The 2014-built drillship Noble Viking won a one-well contract in Malaysia from an undisclosed customer. The job will begin in August 2026, after the rig completes work with Prime in the Philippines, with Shell in Brunei, and with TotalEnergies in Papua New Guinea. Noble stated that it won approximately $565m in new contract value since the January fleet status report. Its backlog stands at $7.5bn. “We commenced 2026 with solid operational and financial results. Commercial momentum remains brisk, highlighted by the Noble Courage’s three-year extension with Petrobras and the Noble Deliverer’s five-well program with Woodside. We remain intensely focused on project execution, with several important contract commencements scheduled over the course of this year, each of which is progressing well,” said Robert W. Eifler, President and CEO of Noble. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsUnited States
