CMA CGM has announced new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) and a Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) update affecting several trade lanes. New PSS for Mediterranean exports From 1 August 2026, CMA CGM will apply a new PSS on out-of-gauge (OOG) cargo moving from the Mediterranean to the Middle East Gulf and Red Sea. Cargo shipped from the Adriatic, East Mediterranean and Black Sea will incur a surcharge of US$1,500 per unit. Cargo from the West Mediterranean and North Africa will be subject to a surcharge of US$500 per unit. China-East Africa surcharge CMA CGM has also revised PSS rates on cargo moving from China to Dar es Salaam and Mombasa. For North and Central China to Dar es Salaam, the surcharge is US$400 per TEU from 20 July. For South China to Dar es Salaam, the surcharge is US$600 per TEU from 15 July. It will change to US$350 per TEU from 1 August. For North and Central China to Mombasa, the surcharge is US$600 per TEU from 20 July. For South China to Mombasa, the surcharge is US$600 per TEU from 1 August. Tunisia RoRo BAF CMA CGM SSL Intra Europe will also update the BAF on its France-Tunisia RoRo South service from 1 August 2026. The new rates are: Full rolling units: €623 per unit Empty rolling units: €412 per unit Other rolling units: €70 per lane metre Passenger cars and minivans: €238 per unit Breakbulk cargo: €39 per cubic metre.
