FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin Pacific International Lines (PIL) has marked a major step in its fleet renewal program with the twin naming of two new 13,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships, Kota Elok and Kota Elan, at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai on June 23, 2026. The two vessels are the first in a series of 13 new 13,000 TEU ships and form a central part of PIL’s strategy to modernize its fleet, expand capacity, and improve competitiveness. Both ships are LNG dual-fuel capable and can also run on low-sulfur fuel oil, enabling significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
