The clause has been produced for use in Time Charter Parties and because many owners have been forced to keep crew on board during the COVID-19 “lockdown” for periods often extending beyond their contracts of employment. The clause with explanatory notes providing a guide to the clause’s use and application can be found here . Members should be aware of the advice in the notes to consult the Club if or when, pursuant to the clause, they intend to deviate, to check the deviation will not prejudice their P&I cover.
