Everllence has signed a framework agreement with Damen Shipyards Group for the serial supply of its 175D high-speed engine, establishing a long-term partnership for the delivery of engines across Damen’s Fuel Flexible tug programme and other applications. Damen is the world’s largest producer of harbour and escort tugs built to standard, pre-defined designs on a serial basis, enabling reduced vessel delivery times for tug operators. The 175D engine was selected for its combination of compact power density, proven performance and availability within Damen’s required development timeline. Its flexible and modular design supports Damen’s long-term fuel strategy, with the tugs prepared for diesel operation and 100% biofuel use available today, as well as future dual-fuel methanol operation either as newbuilds or through retrofit. This positions the 175D as a future-proof propulsion solution for operators seeking to maintain competitiveness while preparing for evolving fuel and regulatory requirements.
