Adani-owned offshore service provider Astro Offshore has expanded its fleet by acquiring a 2021-built multipurpose platform supply vessel (MPSV). The company bought the Energy Savannah from Golden Energy Offshore Services for an undisclosed sum. The vessel will soon be renamed to Astro Atlas. The buy marks the company’s first expansion into ultra-deepwater operations. It also provides access to new international markets and to more complex, high-value offshore projects. The 97-metre MPSV is the largest vessel in Astro’s fleet to date. It is equipped with a 150-tonne subsea AHC crane, 25-tonne secondary crane, moonpool, and accommodation for up to 100 people. The vessel is designed to support a wide range of offshore operations, including subsea construction, cable laying, and pipeline installation. Astro Atlas will be deployed under a charter arrangement with Oceaneering International for supporting subsea-focused offshore operations in complex deepwater environments. “The deployment of the vessel under charter with Oceaneering strengthens our ability to deliver high-spec subsea capabilities in more complex offshore environments. As we continue to grow our operational expertise, it allows us to better support the evolving requirements of our clients and the increasing demand for advanced subsea works,” said Mark Humphreys, CEO of Astro Offshore. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway United Arab Emirates
