File Image / Pixabay UK-based energy trader Centrica Energy has secured ISCC  trader with storage certification, enabling it to trade certified bio-LNG across international markets. The certification confirms compliance with sustainability, traceability and chain-of-custody requirements under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) system, it said in a press release on Monday . Centrica Energy said the accreditation combines its biomethane origination and trading business in the UK and Europe with its global LNG trading capabilities. The company said the certification strengthens its ability to supply bio-LNG to the maritime and road transport sectors. Bio-LNG is a cleaner alternative to conventional LNG and can be used as a drop-in fuel in dual-fuel LNG ships. Centrica Energy aims to offer compliant bio-LNG through a virtual liquefaction route at ISCC-certified LNG terminals across the EU.
