The Port of Yokkaichi handled 12,623 TEUs of international containers in April, down 6.7% year on year. Exports totaled 6,914 TEUs, a decrease of 8%, while imports reached 5,709 TEUs, down 5.1%. The port handled 10,820 loaded TEUs during the month, down 9.5%. Export loaded containers fell 8.3% to 5,600 TEUs, while import loaded containers declined 10.8% to 5,220 TEUs. Empty container volumes increased 14.4% to 1,803 TEUs. During the first four months of 2026, Yokkaichi handled 53,160 TEUs, up 3.2% from the same period last year. Exports reached 28,585 TEUs, up 2.1%, while imports rose 4.6% to 24,575 TEUs. Loaded container volumes increased 0.7% to 46,372 TEUs, while empty containers surged 24.7% to 6,788 TEUs.
