FacebookTwitterEmailLinkedin China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) has announced plans to expand and modernise its fleet with orders for 10 new vessels, including Aframax tankers, container ships and a Newcastlemax bulk carrier, from domestic shipyards. The company approved the newbuilding programme through a board resolution announced on 10 July, with deliveries scheduled between 2028 and 2029. The orders form part of CMES’ broader strategy to renew its fleet, improve operational efficiency and strengthen long-term competitiveness.
