ADNOC Logistics and Services (ADNOC L&S) has ordered four next-generation LNG carriers worth approximately US$900 million, expanding its LNG fleet to meet growing global demand for natural gas. The new vessels, each with a capacity of 175,000 cubic metres, will be built by Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, China. Delivery is scheduled for 2029. The latest order increases ADNOC L&S’ LNG newbuild programme to 18 vessels, supporting the company’s strategy to build one of the world’s most advanced LNG fleets. Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC L&S, said the investment reflects confidence in the long-term outlook for LNG shipping. “As global demand for natural gas continues to rise, this latest order reflects our confidence in the strong fundamentals of the LNG shipping market. We are investing in a next-generation fleet to efficiently connect key supply sources with high-growth demand centres and support the global energy transformation,” he said. ADNOC L&S has already taken delivery of six 175,000-cubic-metre LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard, valued at US$1.2 billion. Five of those vessels have been operating on charters of up to 15 years with ADNOC Gas since May 2026. The four newly ordered vessels are also expected to operate under long-term charter agreements, providing stable revenue while supporting global LNG supply. Jiangnan Shipyard Chief Executive Officer Xiao Wenlin said the latest contract strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies. He noted that ADNOC L&S has previously ordered six LNG carriers, nine Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs), four Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) and five Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) from the Chinese shipbuilder.
