DHL Group and Alibaba.com have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the use of artificial intelligence in international logistics. The companies aim to make cross-border trade easier for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The agreement was announced during Alibaba.com’s CoCreate 2026 Conference in Los Angeles. DHL logistics could be integrated into Accio A key part of the partnership will explore connecting DHL Global Forwarding’s logistics services with Accio , Alibaba.com’s agentic AI platform. The planned integration would connect Accio with DHL Global Forwarding’s quotation and booking capabilities. This could allow SMEs to receive real-time freight forwarding quotes , compare shipping options and book shipments through the AI platform. The companies said this would be the first in a planned series of DHL logistics capabilities for Accio. AI to support cross-border trade The partnership will examine how AI can support businesses across different stages of international trade. This includes sourcing and supplier discovery, as well as logistics quotations, bookings and shipment execution. “Global trade is becoming increasingly digital, and customers expect logistics to be as seamless as the rest of their business activities,” said Tim Robertson, Executive Vice President Accelerated Digitalization at DHL Global Forwarding. He added that the companies see potential to combine AI-powered digital tools with DHL’s logistics network and expertise. Alibaba.com President Kuo Zhang said the collaboration could help lower barriers to cross-border trade and make logistics capabilities more accessible to SMEs.
