Titan Clean Fuels and Sogestran Group have signed a long-term agreement for a new 6,000 cbm LNG bunker vessel . The agreement covers the construction, charter and operation of the vessel. Titan, part of Molgas Group, plans to deploy the vessel across the Western Mediterranean . The vessel will be built by Chinese shipyard CIMC SOE. New vessel to serve major Mediterranean ports The LNG bunker vessel will be able to load LNG from several terminals across the Mediterranean. It will provide ship-to-ship bunkering of LNG and liquefied biomethane (LBM). The vessel will also offer gas-up and cool-down services for LNG-fuelled ships. Operations are expected to cover major ports including Fos-Marseille, Barcelona and Genoa . Titan and Sogestran jointly developed the vessel design for the operating conditions of Western Mediterranean ports and LNG terminals. Its low-air-draft design will allow it to bunker cruise ships without using a pontoon. The vessel itself will also operate on LNG or LBM. Molgas expands LNG bunker fleet The new vessel will join Molgas Group’s existing fleet of eight LNG bunker vessels operating in Northern Europe. Six of these vessels are part of Titan’s fleet, while two operate for Molgas Norway. The project will expand Molgas’ Mediterranean operations into ship-to-ship LNG and LBM bunkering. The group already provides truck-to-ship bunkering and other LNG distribution services in the region. “We’re excited to grow our LNG bunker vessel fleet, by expanding our capacity to cater to our clients in terms of bunkering volume and geographical location,” said Grégoire Hartig, Commercial Director at Titan.
