Hapag-Lloyd will introduce a General Rate Increase (GRI)/General Rate Adjustment (GRA) on shipments from the Indian Subcontinent, Pakistan and the Middle East to the United States and Canada. The adjustment will apply to cargo transported in 20ft and 40ft dry, reefer and special containers, including high cube equipment, for all containers gated in from 15 August 2026 . The new rates will remain valid until further notice. Under the revised tariff, Hapag-Lloyd will implement a US$1,000 per container increase on all applicable shipments from the Indian Subcontinent, Pakistan and the Middle East to destinations in the United States and Canada. The carrier said the GRI/GRA covers all eligible container types moving on the affected North America trade lanes.
