DHL Express has expanded its logistics infrastructure and air network in China through two significant investments, strengthening its ability to support customers operating in and trading with one of the world’s largest manufacturing and consumer markets. The Shenzhen Super Gateway at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport has been expanded through DHL’s largest single investment in mainland China to date, at EUR 177 million. The expansion has tripled processing capacity to approximately 900 tonnes per day, serving one of China’s most important manufacturing and export regions and supporting growing cross-border trade, e-commerce shipments and time-definite international express services. The expanded facility is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs and further strengthen DHL’s network capabilities across Southern China. Complementing the ground infrastructure expansion, DHL Express has launched a new daily Boeing 767 freighter service on the route Shanghai to Bangkok to Bahrain to Brussels and back to Shanghai, adding up to 50 tonnes of daily air freight capacity. The service strengthens connectivity between China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe, providing customers with greater schedule flexibility and increased uplift for heavier shipments.
