CLARKSONS PLATOU HELLAS – SnP WEEKLY BULLETIN in Weekly Shipbuilding Reports 15/05/2026 This week’s SnP activity has primarily centered around large tankers and midsized bulk carriers, with various negotiations progressing across sectors and several transactions materializing. Dry Cargo vessels have continued to attract strong interest, as seen over recent weeks, supported by firm prices and limited availability. Dry Cargo In the Ultramax segment, DOMINATOR (ABT 64K DWT, 2021, SHIN KASADO) is committed at USD 38m basis surveys promptly due in July 2026. Further activity was recorded on the Supramax side, with Greek buyers emerging behind the eco-Supramax SUMAQ QUEEN (ABT 51K DWT, 2017, IMABARI, OHBS) sale, reported committed at levels of excess USD 25m. Furthermore, the Supramax SETY (ABT 55K DWT, 2010, I.H.I, WARTSILA) was sold for USD 16.5m. The PLANET TEAM (ABT 53K DWT, 2009, SINOPACIFIC ZHEJIANG) was sold to undisclosed buyers at mid-USD 10m, whilst the older JALMA TOPIC (ABT 52K DWT, 2006, TSUNEISHI CEBU) achieved a price in excess USD 12m. Tanker In the VLCC space, clients of Trafigura are reported to have acquired the scrubber-fitted resale VLCC LAS PALMAS (ABT 306,000 DWT, BLT 2026, HENGLI SB DALIAN) at levels in excess USD 160m basis September 2026 delivery, highlighting the appetite for modern eco tonnage with prompt delivery. Furthermore, Greek interests are understood to have committed the resale Suezmax-pair OLYMPIC STAR and N/B DH SHIPBUILDING 5111 (ABT 157,000 DWT, BLT 2027, DH SHIPBUILDING) at an en-bloc price of USD 190m, with both vessels scheduled for delivery within 2027.
