Lines (MOL) has named the world’s first LNG carrier equipped with two Wind Challenger wind-assisted propulsion units at a ceremony held at Hanwha Ocean’s Geoje Shipyard in South Korea on 10 September. The vessel, named FUJIN SAILOR, is scheduled to be delivered to Chevron Corporation under a long-term charter at the end of September. As stated, its Wind Challenger system is designed to reduce fuel consumption and associated greenhouse-gas emissions compared with conventional propulsion.
